FASE II Compact Fusion Splicer

Price: $10,150.00
Availability: in stock
Prod. Code: fase II

High Quality Splicing:

  • Designed to produce low loss splices with both singlemode and multimode fiber.
  • Average loss for singlemode: Typical 0.05 dB (max. 0.10 dB)
  • Average loss for multimode: Typical 0.05 dB (max. 0.10 dB)

Simple Operation:

A precision-engineered ceramic V-block guides the fiber into alignment. The operator need only place fibers in the self-centering clamps, look through the high power microscope, adjust the gap between the fibers using the thumb-wheels, and press the arc button. As the arc is fired the fibers are driven together using a piezo-electric translator. The surface tension of the molten fibers pulls them into alignment.

Innovative Splicing Techniques:

As the arc is fired the fibers are driven together using a piezoelectric translator. The surface tension of the molten fibers pulls them into alignment.

FASE II achieves low loss splices by using a new fusion technique - Axial Reciprocation. Developed during years of research this technique increases the surface tension effect by vibrating one of the fibers as they are brought together.

Flexibility & Efficiency:

Ease of use and flexibility through microprocessor control. An operator-programmable facility allows the user precise control over the splicing parameters.
Incorporates power-efficient electronics and an auto-power-down feature to provide over one hundred splices from its internal sealed lead acid battery. A low-battery indication tells you when to plug in the supplied charger.

Safe Operation :

Designed to ensure safe operation. The high voltage arc has a dual software interlock so it cannot be fired accidentally. The X75 magnification microscope provides a clear view if the fibers and is designed to protect the user from both ultraviolet and infrared light.
